Pictou County Solid Waste Management System (PCSWMS) provides service for the Town of New Glasgow. The PCSWMS operates the Mount William Landfill site and provides an integrated waste management system for the Municipality.
These services include:
· Landfill Disposal
· Recycling Collection (curbside)
· Compost Facility
· Waste Reduction Education
· Administrative Services for Refuse Collection
The Recycling program involves the curbside collection on a bi-weekly basis. PCSWMS conducts recycling education for the public, including presentations to schools and the business sector.

East River Pollution Abatement System |
The East River Pollution Abatement System (ERPAS) serves the Town of New Glasgow. The treatment plant is located on the east bank of the East River near the Trenton/New Glasgow boundary.For information on the Pollution Abatement System visit the Pictou County Planning Commission website.
