The New Glasgow Police Service, located in New Glasgow Nova Scotia is made up of more than 29 Police Officers and 6 civilian members.

Mission Statement

Our Police Service will work as a Team, Hand in Hand with the Community to Protect and Maintain a Safe Society for ALL.

"...policing services need to continue to assess the relevance of our present roles and responsibilities. We recognize that our community is no longer willing to be regarded as a passive recipient of police service and therefore we must reorganize our service delivery to be responsive. Community policing is not a distinct program or collection of programs added on to existing police programs. It is a philosophy of policing and a method of service delivery which goes beyond the bounds of what has traditionally been known as policing: crime investigation, law enforcement and maintenance of order.

We the police, are also concerned with addressing unique needs and problems with the people we serve. In other words, community policing is "an interactive process between the police and the community to mutually identify and resolve community problems."  Delaney Chisholm was appointed as New Glasgow’s Chief of Police in September 2007. A veteran police administrator and officer, Chisholm has 37 years of experience in Police Service.
