Town of New Glasgow

The Town of New Glasgow Mechanical Department is the largest Municipal Mechanical Department in Nova Scotia excluding Halifax Regional Municipality and Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

The department has five full time mechanics, including two with red seal certifications in bus and transport operations. The department handles over one hundred internal pieces of equipment as well as providing mechanical services to other towns within Pictou County. The CHAD Bus Service, Pictou County Solid Waste, and various nursing homes throughout Pictou County.

The Town of New Glasgow takes great pride of having a mechanical staff with expertise to provide vehicle specification, mechanical diagnosis and repair of a wide variety of equipment from emergency Police and Fire vehicles, to snow plows, graders and a bus fleet. The department uses modern diagnostic equipment as well as a well maintained Mechanical Shop, at our Public Works facility on Parks Street, New Glasgow.
